One thing I hope these snow-mad ticket buyers are prepared for, though, is that I’m told the movie will contain some sex. Plus, the movie takes place in Seattle, where there isn’t really snow, so it’ll practically be like visiting a tropical island! I’m sure you can see why so many people are buying advance tickets to this movie, which comes out on Valentine’s Day weekend. What a rousing story for these grim winter months. People are really eager to see this thing.Īnd why wouldn’t they be? Based on the very popular book, Fifty Shades of Grey tells the inspiring story of a college senior who visits the big city on a school newspaper assignment and finds a whole world of excitement and opportunity there. Which is why it makes complete sense that the Fifty Shades of Grey movie is apparently Fandango’s fastest-selling advance-ticket R-rated movie in the company’s history. So we need to find things to cheer us up, little oases of joy and amusement in this otherwise nightmarish season. And once the holidays pass, there’s really nothing to look forward to. It’s cold and lonely and dark, a bleak preview of what it will be like when the sun finally burns out and the planet is cast into permanent night.
